Child Dedication

On Fathers Day, June 19, we are having our annual Child Dedication service! It's a blessing to have so many growing families in our church and it's important that we come alongside and help them in raising their children to love Christ and live for Him.

We will be holding the dedications during both services. When signing your child up for dedication, please select the service you will be attending. Someone from our team will reach out to you the week before the dedication to fill you in on all the details for the day!

We are excited and honored that you have chosen to take this step with your family at Northbend. If your child is in Pre-K / K or younger, sign up below to get on the list!

What is Child Dedication?

Child dedication is a symbolic ceremony undertaken by parents soon after the birth of a child. This is intended to be a public statement by the parents saying that you will train your children in the Christian faith and seek to instill that faith in them. This is also a time for our entire church to come alongside you as parents and help you in your commitment to raise your children up to love Christ.

We see Biblical examples of this being done in 1 Samuel 1:11 when Hannah, a barren wife, promised to dedicate her child to God if He would give her a son. Another example we look to is found in Luke 2:22 when Mary and Joseph took Jesus to the temple after 40 days to dedicate Him to the Lord.
